Gever wrote in with photos and results from the Adobe XD shirt making fun @ Maker Maker Faire -
We just got all the media uploaded from the “XD 5-minute Design Challenge” and boy does it look cool as a montage.
Adobe XD sponsored a design challenge at Maker Faire. Makers had 5 minutes to create a design in a custom Flash application, which was converted by Illustrator to line art, that was cut into a stencil by a laser cutter. Makers then used the stencil to airbrush their design onto a t-shirt. 170 t-shirts were created in 2 days (one shirt every 5.5 minutes for the entire Faire!).
Once it started, the action was non-stop! On Saturday, 95 shirts were created in 8.5 hours. On Sunday, 75 shirts were created in 7 hours (starting at exactly 10:00am and finishing at exactly 5:00pm). That’s effectively one shirt every 5.5 minutes for 15.5 solid hours!
Along the way we awarded 8 copies of the full Creative Suite 3 over the course of the faire. The first person we gave the prize to had actually been saving up to purchase a copy – so it was especially exciting for them and super-fun for us to get to give it to them.

Gareth Branwyn ran the fantastic Mousey the Junkbots workshops at Maker Faire, here’s his write up!
Well, we’re back from the Maker Faire. Very tiring, but supremely satisfying. I’d really wanted to blog the event as it happened, but ended up spending nearly all day, both days, in the Make booth, building mousebots. At night, I was just too wiped to do anything but keel over.
Everything at a Maker Faire is cranked to 11: the size of the event, the creativity of what’s being presented, the excitement of the fairgoers, the diversity of the people who show up. So, YOU end up on 11. I heard this jacked amperage was experienced by both fairgoers and presenters alike. The common chant went something like: “This is SO awesome. I LOVE it! There’s too much! I’ll never get to see it all.”…

Emily on Inhabitat has a beautiful article about the recycled textile jewelry of Silvina Romero of Buenos Aires.
From the article:
Silvina started working with discarded textiles about four years ago during the height of the Argentinian economic crisis, gathering scrap fabric, thread, nylon, and more in a neighborhood called Once, where many of fabric dealers and manufacturers set up shop.
