Hi Crafters! I’m flying to NY to go on the CBS Early Show on Saturday! I’m showing “Last Minute Halloween Costumes for Kids” and my segment is at 7:45am. (Yes eaaarly people!) Set your DVR or catch it online at the Early Show site. We’ll be featuring 5 costumes you can make from supplies you can grab from around your house or the nearby craft store. The how-to’s for the projects will also be up on Craftzine on Saturday morning and we’ll have the link off the homepage, so you’ll be able to find it easily. Jenny Ryan’s also coming along as we try our hand at being stylists for the kids eaaarly in the morning. Did I say early? Wish us luck!
I’m so happy to be showing off the amazing work of our CRAFT contributors: Diana Eng, Cathy Callahan, Susan Beal, and Nancy Flynn. I can’t wait to show you all the cute costumes you can really make in a matter of hours. Tune in or check back on Craftzine on Saturday!

In doing research for my possible Flying Spaghetti Monster costume, besides Lenore and Windell’s FSM headdress, most full-body FSM costumes I’ve seen look more like pasta barf than Spaghetti Monster. If you search on Flickr, you’ll find dozens of examples. The best full-body costume I’ve seen so far is this one, sent from Dave Gray, posted in our Comments section. The meatballs under the arms are a nice touch. And for anyone who knows the FSM mythos, the pirate companion is the perfect accoutrement.

I’ve had a few scuffles in my house over the TV remote so I decided to do something about it. I built a circuit that will block my TV and any device I choose from getting a signal from the normal remote control. I turn an ordinary remote into a jammer and the remote still works normally!
